Using League Organizer

Sending Rosters to Little League
To create the roster file to send to the Little League Data Center:
1. From within League Organizer, create the registration file by clicking on the Little League icon on the toolbar.
2. Enter your league's ID and click OK. -
Generating a Division Schedule
Generating a schedule is easy if you first do some planning. You must know the season starting date, how many games each team will play OR the season ending date, what days of the week each division will play, what times the games will start, and how long you want to reserve the field/court for each game.

Division & Team Names
A team is identified by the division and short team name combination. That way the same team name can be used by teams in more than one division.
The team code is used to access the division and team combination.
Division Names
In League Organizer, a division is the group of teams which play each other in the schedule. -
Uniforms
If you enter each player's uniform size, you can create a list of uniform requirements.
Uniform Sizes
1. League Organizer comes with built-in sizes, but you can change these (Version 2011) by selecting Files > Quick Entry Items > Quick Entry Items > Sizes tab. -
The Draft
Some leagues hold a formal draft, with the coaches sitting around a table and alternately choosing players for their teams. Others are more informal, dividing the players into teams which they hope will have equal abilities, using their knowledge of the players and player performance at tryouts.

Activating Personnel
At the end of the season, most leagues choose to move their personnel into the inactive file. When the new season begins you must enter new players, etc., but not returning ones. They are still in the inactive file, waiting to be made active.
Activating personnel requires two steps: 1) Mark Active and 2) Transfer to the Active File. -
Tryouts
Printing tryout forms helps coaches evaluate the players in an orderly fashion. There are three steps: 1) create tryout numbers, 2) print tryout forms, and 3) print tryout labels.
1. Create Tryout Numbers
Create tryout numbers by selecting Personnel > Create Tryout Numbers. -
Little League Ages
Little League uses different cut-off dates for baseball and softball. This year, the baseball cut-off is 04/30/2011 and the softball cut-off is 12/31/2010. These must be changed each year by selecting Files > Preferences and entering them at the bottom of the first page. If your league does not have a softball program, enter the baseball cut-off in both spaces.

Setting the League Age
Ages in League Organizer are always league ages, not real ages. That's the age the player is on the cut-off date. Each year you must change this date. If not, the age on the screen and in reports will be wrong.
To change the cut-off date, select Files > Preferences.
